New Year, new resolutions, new Lustre suite! You heard right; we’ve officially added a second Lustre suite to our humble abode! You can also find a new editing workstation outfitted with the latest Final Cut and Avid software. Our space currently features six HD offline suites and two HD online suites, all equipped with the latest software to meet the increase of file based workflows and HD projects.

After graduating with a degree in Multimedia, Paige King dove headfirst into launching her career. From her early roots as graphic designer to coordinating national conferences, overseeing marketing activities and even selling homes during tough economic times, Paige has developed an impressive resume for herself. She took Dallas by storm, and lucky for us, found her way to Fast Cuts.

We are excited to announce Paige’s promotion as our new Rep. With her strong work ethic and positive up-beat attitude, we are optimistic that Paige will play a huge role in building a future for Fast Cuts. “I am excited to take on this new venture and look forward to showcasing what Fast Cuts has to offer.”

Paige enjoys spending her free time with her hubby of three years and their two dogs watching reality T.V. shows or taking walks on Katy Trail. She shares a close relationship with her mom, loves spending time on beaches, and has a soft spot for animals. In fact, sometimes you can catch her leaving snacks for our furry critter friends outside!

We are pleased to have Paige grow with the Fast Cuts family. If you get a moment, please stop by to congratulate her!

We are pleased to welcome two new faces to our Fast Cuts family, Diana Mak and Jenn Pickle!

Diana, who will be coordinating the marketing and PR activities, is a lover of all things pink with a weakness for chocolate chip cookies. She is a die-hard Harry Potter fan who enjoys traveling, photography and casting magical spells in her free time (joking of course!).

Jenn is handling our client services, and will be marrying the love of her life in October! Big homebodies, who are proud parents of a 14-year old son, 13-year old daughter, 9-year old son, Jack Russell, Beagle, and their newest addition, a Staffordshire Terrier. Her life is pretty much ruled by C&C (children and canines), but she wouldn’t have it any other way!

Be sure to stop by and introduce yourself to our new friends! They don’t bite, but then again, we aren’t making any promises.

Contest: Every Monday, we post a closeup shot of “Pops” somewhere in the world on our Facebook fan page. All you have to do is post your guess as a comment for the photo. If no one guesses correctly by the next morning, we’ll post a slightly wider shot to give you additional hints and will continue to do so until someone gets the right answer. You won’t be able to get away with a post like “Dallas, Texas” or “an art museum” so be specific in your guesses. We like official names like “Dallas Museum of Art” or “Leaning Tower of Pisa” so try your best to post guesses in a similar fashion.

When you hear the word “paper,” what company comes to mind other than Dunder Mifflin (of the hit NBC show The Office)? These days, it’s Domtar, one of the world’s largest integrated manufacturers and marketers of uncoated freesheet paper. Domtar has released a series of hilarious “really really short films” for their latest “Paper Because” campaign with the help of our talented editor, Richard Gillespie.

The best part of shooting out of town has got to be all those lovely lakes stocked with great big bass just waiting for somebody to drop a line in the water. Lucky for them Hayes Smith managed to find a way to fish all the way back to Dallas. He caught some real beauties.

Walter May just shot the video for the single “My Life Again” for Universal Records artists, the McClymonts. The Aussie sisters’ video was edited by Gigi Cone Welch and is in heavy rotation on CMT. They are currently in the #2 spot behind fellow Aussie Keith Urban. You can check out the video and vote for it on cmt.com.

Fast Cuts’ own Shari Caldwell was featured at the Kettle Art Gallery’s first juried art exhibit. One of her paintings was selected from hundreds of entries from local and regional artists to hang in the gallery in November. You can see a video from the reception on the KERA website.
